Software Engineer

AMP is a leading provider of licensing and certification examinations for professional organizations. We operate an advanced testing network spanning over 150 testing centers worldwide. AMP develops leading-edge application systems for both internal and client use; and maintains multiple public web services including e-commerce and web delivered, self examination products.

We are seeking a uniquely talented and creative senior software engineer to join our Kansas City corporate technology group. We offer competitive salaries and excellent benefits in a technologically stimulating environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Participate in the design, prototype, development, testing and maintenance of custom application systems primarily using Visual Studio framework and SQL Server and Oracle database systems.
• Interact with internal and external clients to specify and develop exciting new business applications.
• Serve in a leadership role for selected software projects and teams.

Requirements Include:

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
• 4+ years experience in designing and maintaining enterprise-level, relational database applications.
• 2+ years experience in software development using Visual Studio.NET.
• Solid experience in object oriented design and writing .NET applications.
• Strong knowledge of IIS, ASP.NET, Visual Basic, JavaScript and .NET component and web services.
• Demonstrated team leadership skills.
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services a plus.
• Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to forecast and communicate project status accurately.
• Able to operate effectively in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to interact smoothly with development team and clients.
• Avid interest in maintaining leading-edge skills in application development tools, frameworks and technologies.
• A strong team player who is attentive to details and focused on quality.
